Mother’s Day Gifting 2023

You know what is coming up this Sunday May 14th, 2023? That’s right, it’s Mother’s Day!

I take it you probably already knew that. If you didn’t know just from being an awesome planner, you have likely seen countless advertisements floating around everywhere (including your social media feeds). Many of us are getting ready to celebrate someone special in our lives who had a foundational role in helping us to become the people we are today. The person who we think of for Mother’s Day is often the one who raised us but can also include influential women in our lives who put in extra time and effort to help us grow. I think each of these women should be celebrated and recognized for who they are to us.

Here at CoffeeCraft, we have core values that lead us to approach gifting opportunities creatively. So today I’d like to lean into those values to share what I think moms are really hoping for this Mother’s Day. . . .

Moms truly seek quality time spent with their kids.

Don’t get me wrong - as a mother of 5 and 7-year-old boys, I cherish every craft or attempt to show love. I think many moms can find value in being thought of and the time it takes to put something together. However, even in my short experience as a mom, I can see how the role of mothering is investing so much of your time, heart, energy, and mind into lovingly helping another human being become the best person they can be. We want to be able to celebrate and simply enjoy these people who hold such a special place in our hearts.

Sometimes as grown-up “kids,” we don’t always know how to give gifts to our moms year after year. Also, there are father figures in our community who are not only trying to think of ways to celebrate their mom but the loved one in their life who is a mom also. I believe that we can find unique ways to share the message of love and I’ll share a couple of ideas below that will hopefully spark some inspiration for you.

The most important thing is to intentionally tailor your gift to the person who will be receiving it.

Consider having your gift be a meal out or a coffee date to just chat and catch up. If your mom is able and interested in it, consider going for a nature walk or a hike together. Gifts can be special and meaningful but the gift of your presence will be the best thing your mom receives.

Another option for in-person visits or for those who are physically distant from their moms would be to take time to create a “joy list” together. This is a simple list of all of the things that bring you joy right now. It can be a great opportunity to get to know each other better and share if there are any new passions or hobbies in your lives. The best part is that this can be done with all ages (at least with kiddos who are able to talk clearly)!

When you sign up for our email list, we’ll send you the Joy List download and share meaningful and short updates on all things CoffeeCraft. Make sure to click the confirm button in the email to receive the Joy List file.

We promise not to clog your inbox!

If you think your mom would really appreciate a physical gift but don’t know exactly what to give, consider one of our Crafty Plans! Not only can this be a great gift by itself, but it can be a craft that you and your mom do together <3 You can visit our shop to find the best option for you and your mom.

I hope you have a fantastic Mother’s Day weekend, and find a great way to celebrate special women in your life. And if you’re a mom, I hope you feel especially loved and cherished as the wonderful gift you are to those who love you.

<3 Auntie Christine
